Applications are invited for a 12-month, 1.0 FTE tenure-track position at Associate Professor or Professor rank for the Glenn & Mildred Harvey Professorship in Beef Cattle Management and Associate Department Head (approximately 40% research, 30% teaching, 5% service, 25% administration) in the Department of Animal and Rangeland Sciences of Oregon State University. This position will teach ANS 445/545 Beef Production Systems course and other courses specific to the person’s training and is expected to establish an internationally recognized, externally funded research program. Specific sub-disciplines related to beef cattle production and/or management may include ruminant nutrition, genetics, meat science, animal health, sustainability, behavior, and/or animal welfare. There are two beef ranches within 15 miles of the Corvallis campus with a total of 1200 grazable acres and approximately 114 head of cows and heifers and 5 bulls. As Associate Department Head, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the Department’s Corvallis farm units and land holdings which include 10 farm units that encompass approximately 2052 acres of fenced pastures and 3000 acres total.
