1.Under the close supervision of a more senior staff member, he/she is responsible for technical studies directed toward the solution of entire problems or of assigned portions of complex technical problems. 2.Execute and design experimental procedures expected to yield information on his/her problem. 3.Lead a number of professional and non-professional personnel junior to himself/herself in the pursuit of his/her technical studies. 4.Collaborate with staff members of other disciplines from within and outside of the company on his/her assignments. 5.Gather information and record observations and analyze same as required to become familiar with the various aspects of the problem at hand. 6.Effectively communicate, verbal and written, with representatives of other areas within the company. 7.Prepare reports on problems assigned. 8.Assemble or supervise the assembly of apparatus or equipment for required experiments. 9.Be responsible for the safety of those he/she may supervise. 10.Develop unique new products, which meet the requirements of marketing. 11.Work closely with operations to determine meat blocks, processes, and ingredients, which meet new product requirements. 12.Determine process and procedures which meet food safety requirements. 13.Demonstrate knowledge of new culinary and food concepts, trends, and solutions.
Minimum Qualifications: •A Bachelor of Science degree in a food/meat science discipline •Effective analytical skills •Strong organization, written and verbal communication skills •Highly developed interpersonal skills, including leadership and decision making •The ability and initiative to identify problems and opportunities, and to develop, recommend, and implement effective solutions and courses of action •The ability to work independently with limited supervision
