| FSNS is actively seeking Laboratory Technical Managers to join the Technical and Operations team in the following locations: Amarillo, TX; Covington, Georgia; Springdale, Arkansas; Boise, Idaho. We are seeking a degreed Microbiologist , Master Level degree preferred, to fill this position. The position is responsible for the overall sustainment of the ISO 17025 Quality program within the lab as well as oversight of the training program for all personnel within the laboratory. The position plays a critical role in the overall management and sustainment of operations within the laboratory. Interested parties should have experience in training, quality assurance and personnel management. Another exciting portion of this job will be to support the overall technical team by helping to select appropriate test methods, updating of microbiology methods, assisting in the design of method validation projects and providing technical information to our customers. |
1.Ability to differentiate between colors and make color determinations of test results.
2.Implement and maintain quality systems in accordance with regulatory agency requirements to include, but not limited to, ISO/IEC 17025, A2LA, FDA and USDA.
3.Monitor quality control programs and ensure compliance to Quality Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, A2LA requirements and ISO/IEC 17025 guidelines.
4.Perform internal audits as scheduled in the Internal Audit Program and as assigned by management.
5.Facilitate internal and external audits and identify opportunities for improvement in the quality system and training program.
6.Manage the laboratory’s Document Control System and facilitate implementation of policy and procedural updates.
7.Manage the laboratory’s Corrective Action and Preventive Action (CAPA) system and technical client inquiries.
8.Coordinate and manage the laboratory’s Proficiency Testing (PT) program.
9.Monitor the laboratory’s PT performance and assess training needs.
10.Monitor the Laboratory Control Sample (LCS) Program and review the laboratory’s Statistical Process Charts (SPC).
11.Manage the laboratory’s Equipment Calibration and Verification program.
12.Manage the laboratory‘s Training Program and administer technical and quality system training for new and current laboratory personnel according to FSNS standard operating procedures.
13.Maintain laboratory training and competency records.
14.Contribute to continuous improvement of the overall FSNS Training program.
15.On-board new technologies relative to quality and training program development.
16.Maintain a high degree of technical competence by reading scientific journals, attending professional workshops, and being aware of food industry issues and trends.
17.Provide technical support to the laboratory and clients.
18.Manage work schedule to accommodate laboratory needs.
19.This position works closely as part of the Laboratory Management Team and has the authority to stop work and request sample resets as necessary.
