Responsible for the beef slaughter management and safe production of quality beef products that meet specifications and expectations of the customer and satisfy regulatory requirements. Maintains consistent effort to operate a plant safely and efficiently way possible to decrease expenses and increase revenues. Direct, coordinate and train employees engaged in the production or processing of beef goods. Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records/reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs. Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments. Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals. Inspect materials, products or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training. Ensure the quality and yields of products on the line. Observe work and monitor safety, efficiency and quality product, dials and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards. Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints or grievances.
Knowledge of USDA regulations and OSHA requirements. Must have at least 3 years beef slaughter supervisory experience. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally. Relevant experience in meat packing industry. Computer knowledge required. Strong time management, organizational skill and ability to multi-task. Bilingual English/Spanish languages helpful.
